Faced with the prospect of a number of illustrations featuring our favourite band of dwarf brothers and cousins I realised I was going to need to think about how I distinguish each from the other. I found variations in noses, beards, moustaches, harilines and even eyebrows makes it quite easy to develop a distinctive silhouette for each dwarf. Yes, there are only 10 here but that was all I could fit on the page! I'm not even sure who is who yet but I have to say this was a lot of fun My definitive dwarf cheat sheet will come soon.
(I know they are not strictly silhouettes - but you know what I mean )
Ahh, yes - the easiest way for me to create definable and different silhouettes was to try and make each beard different. Beards are great! Saves you having to draw a lot of the face
