Another in my LOTR portrait series. Gimli leap-frogged Legolas on the drawing table with all his irresistible and cheeky charm.

Forgive me the liberties in his brows and beard - and the spelling of Glóin... DA title field won't allow special characters!

(now available as a print!) :)

this actually looks more like Gloin, Gimli's father.

Enjoy, and thank you for the incredible inspiration.

It's great! It's so nice to see an original design of a character of the trilogy. I like it very much, and the detail you put on his facial features is lovely.
I especially love his eyebrows, I like how they come out of the helmet. His nose is great too, looks very ...strong, I think=) Wonderful expression too.:+fav:

Not exactly how I would have imagined Gimli, but awesome nontheless. The pencilwork is absolutely gorgeous - the flow of his beard is just irrestistible.

I am SO favoring this.

Thanks very much!
Looking at him now I think he looks more like Gino Acevedo who put all those amazing prosthetics on John Rhys-Davies... certainly the cheeky grin, anyway :)
