Artist's Comments
An experiment on a piece of watercolour paper that I failed to stretch properly. I wanted to try a few different ways of combining pencil, ink and watercolour.
The tree on the left was outlined in sepia ink and shaded in pencil before watercolour was added over the top. The middle tree was sketched in pencil, coloured, then outlined in sepia ink. The tree on the right was outlined in more detail in ink, coloured and then re-inked. I'm leaning towards the tree on the left  |

The left tree is my fav too because adding the ink before the paint makes it look more subtle, adding the ink on the end makes it pop more, thinking about it twice you could get advantage of both techniques combined to create a lot of depth in an illustration.
Now I'm downloading this, I love the way you draw your tree trunks so...
